Overview
Moldova is a growing program. Moldova enjoys a favorable climate, good farmland, and is famous for its wines. However, it remains the poorest country in Europe, accounting for the high placement of children in its orphanages.
Children available: Children of both genders and of all ages are in need of homes. The youngest children available for adoption are in the 2-4 year old age range. Pre-school and young school age children are also waiting for families. Sibling groups and children with special needs will be given priority in being matched with international families. Children are cared for in institutional settings in Moldova.
Parent Qualifications for Adopting from Moldova:
- Married couples and single women, where at least one member of the couple is under 50-years-old at adoption completion.
Timeline: From application to child coming home is approximately 24 months.
Travel: Two trips are required. The first trip is a stay in country of approximately 30 days. The second trip is a shorter 5 day trip where at the end you will bring home your child.
