Overview

Honduras has a very small adoption program. Parents who wish to adopt from Honduras should be willing to be patient.

Children Available for Adoption from Honduras: Children of different ages are available who are either placed for adoption by birthmothers due to poverty or have been removed from birth families due to abuse / neglect and reconciliation has failed. Children are cared for in foster families or orphanages (both public and private) until they find their adoptive families. Special Needs are also available.

Parent Qualification:

• Couples between 25 to 50 years of age and married for at least 3 years may adopt a child.
• Singles within the same age range can also adopt.
• The child must be identified and must qualify as an orphan.

Timeline: Timeframe is unpredictable / variable.

Travel: Stay length can vary from case to case.
