Overview
There are few agencies with programs in the Republic of Georgia. The Republic of Georgia is a very small program and is continuing to evolve.
Children Available: Both boys and girls, ages 18 months -5 years with mild to moderate special needs are available to adopt. Sibling groups and children over age 6 with mild or no known special needs are also available for adoption.
Parent Qualifications for Adopting from The Republic of Georgia:
- Married couples and single individuals may adopt from the Republic of Georgia.
- The adoptive parents must be a minimum of 16 years older than the child they are adopting.
- Parents must not have a felony on record, no child abuse record, no termination of parental rights on record.
Travel: One trip of 3-4 weeks is require to adopt from the country of Georgia
Timeline: After your dossier is complete, referrals generally take about 1-4 months. Travel is often 4-6 months after referral. All timelines are estimates.
