Overview
A small country, Armenia was formerly part of the USSR. Armenia borders Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey. The program in Armenia is small in comparison to larger countries. Children reside in orphanages or maternity homes in Yerevan. The orphanage and maternity home care is reported to be very good. Children from this area (in general) are fair to olive skinned, with dark hair.

Parent Qualifications for Adopting from Armenia:
- Married couples and single women are eligible to apply.
- Applicant family size should be now more than 2-3 children in the home, but each case is evaluated.
- One of the adoptive parents should be younger than 49 years old to adopt an infant 12 months or younger.
- Parents must be at least 20 years older than the child.
Travel: Travel is required by both parents. Two trips are required. The first trip is a about a one week stay in country. The second trip is about 3-5 week stay in country.
